BBC Christianity Funny Religion

A prayer and a pint.

I am under no illusion that when Mitchell and Webb put these sketches together, it was to have a pop at Christianity.

Whatever the intention (Oooooh . . . sounding a bit post-modern!) for me these sketches typify the BBC’s religious programming ethos which aims to portray Christianity as one of the following:

  • Weird
  • Irrelevant
  • For old people
  • A Priest on an Island
  • Out moded
  • Out Dated
  • Quirky
  • Two Priests on an Island
  • Emasculated
  • Fanatical
  • Out of touch
  • Fundamentalist
  • Dot Cotton

Mitchell and Web have caught at least one of those here.
